Thoughtful friends send notes just to keep in touch. However, over-worked people will send you e-mail only when they want something. These messages usually seek a specific answer to a question. When you write back, make sure you answer the question as best you can. Don't force the time-pressed message sender to ask the question again, or conduct a lengthy series of messages. You'd better not make them late for a double espresso date.
I know some people seem to---inexplicably---envy my life.
NOTHING is going right. Nothing. Just when I pull myself out of my doldrums, something pulls me right back down. It's as if I am battling a powerful, invisable force that absolutely does NOT want me to remain positive for long. I'll have a positive day, & then the next, be right back in the pits of dispair.
I am at a point where I am scared to death. I don't know what to do. I cannot get out from under my tremendous stress. I swear, I am gonna have a heartattack soon.
I feel guilty complaining about my life, when I know others have it much worse. I mean, I have a roof over my head (for now, since paying rent is a major issue here), a truck that drives, food in my belly, a family who, while they don't understand me & won't help me, loves me. Great friends. Don't get me wrong...I am VERY grateful for all that I DO have. Very grateful. But sorry....I am down. It happens. I want to just lay down in my bed & never get back up...just waste away. I won't do it, of course, but I won't be dishonest that the feelings aren't there. Life is tough for me right now. I am faced with questions that I simply don't know the answer to, no matter how much I struggle to find the answers, pray, etc.
Who names their kid "Deckard?" Who names their kid "Bocefus?" I think some parents are extraordinarily cruel, when it comes to names.
Anyway....I have been a busy little letter writer in the last couple of days. I am struggling to find the "near perfect" cellphone service plan & phone. This is a never ending struggle, I have found. You find a phone that you love, but it doesn't have a couple of things you are looking for. Another has what you are looking for, but is lacking in other areas. You find a great plan, but that company's offered phones are crap. You find a phone you love, but it's REALLY expensive, & the plan required ain't cheap either. I take my electronics/technology VERY seriously. I know nothing in life is perfect, which is why I say I look for the most NEAR perfect plan & phone. Right now, I am flopping back & forth between Sprint, Verizon, & T Mobile. Sprint offers the coolest phones, but they are BY FAR the most expensive. Verizon is right in the middle, money wise. They have one really cool phone (the Z-800), but it's expensive ($400, but I could get it through a friend for around $250-300). But THAT cool phone doesn't have a calculator, which I actually use my phone for quite a bit. I had hoped to find a phone that would work with my Pocketmail Composer, but none that I have found work.
You may know someone who needs a Best Friend. Please forward this message, if we can get even one adopted, we're saving a life. Imagine...these dogs being put asleep just because no one wants them...they didn't do anything wrong. *sigh*
On Friday, July 26, 2002, 86 dogs were seized from a collector's home in Burbank. The dogs were crated in the house which according to animal control, was at least 100 degrees. The animals have been in the custody of the shelter and became available for adoption this past Saturday. Normally, the Burbank Shelter will hold onto animals as long as they have space but with this amount of extra dogs, they are going to have to start euthanizing. A lot of these dogs are really wonderful and deserve a second chance. MOST OF THE DOGS ARE LARGE "MIXED" BREEDS (Shepherds, Pit Bulls, Chows, Labs), but many with great dispositions. The shelter is waiving the normal $45 adoption fee and is only asking for $15 to adopt a dog which includes the spay/neuter. Please pass the word to anyone you know about these poor animals. They have had a rough time for the majority of their lives and deserve a shot at a real home.
IF YOU CAN HELP, PLEASE CALL THE BURBANK SHELTER DIRECTLY. If not, please forward this to anyone you think might be able to help. THANK YOU

You might have heard me mention that I get to go to my family's lakehouse in September. I seriously couldn't be more excited. I can barely stand to wait the 3 weeks I have to wait! I have not visited my lakehouse since 1999, & I would LIKE to get there every summer. Just didn't work out that way. But thanks to a wonderful friend, I am able to get there this year.
Here's two pictures of the lake, so you might understand why I want to go there so badly. It's just....peaceful to me...and contains a LOT of good memories.
This is a view of our pier & boathouse from the house...it's quite a view.
This is a view of the house, itself, from the pier. That's my sister & my ex-boyfriend on the sidewalk.
If you live anywhere near Pell City, AL, & think you'd like to come out for the day, respond here or send me an email. No "partying," just relaxing, sunning, & swimming.
Who wants to go to Knott's Berry Farm this weekend for free?
While cleaning up, I found two tickets to Knott's Berry Farm that expire on the 18th, so they have to be used by Sunday.
Two free tickets to Knott's Berry Farm....the bonus is, you get to see me perform on Saturday (if that's the day you go)...or just see me there. Plus, there's Ghost Rider (an AWESOME wooden roller coaster), Montezooma's Revenge, Supreme Scream, & Accelerator.
Tentatively, we are planning an outing to the famed Joe's Crab Shack, with chappell & Meredith on Saturday, August 31st, around 5PM or so, for dinner. Be there or be square. And they'd BETTER have Bananas Foster that night! *grumble* Respond here if you'd like to go...or even just thinking about it. I will post about it again much closer to the actual date.
