OK....the calm at the end of the storm.

The giant hive has left my body. It was weird...after I did that post & got off the net to take my Benedryl, other hives started forming over my body. I got a big patch on my back, one little dot on my right inner thigh, one little dot on my stomach, & a patch on my right tricep. No rhyme or reason. But it was definitely beginning to spread, & the giant one was growing larger, too. Weird.

But I took a Benedryl, got knocked out, & by the time I woke up this morning, the hives were gone...for now. I am still really itchy, so they may come back. My flu----or whatever it is---is worse today, too. I thought I was getting better, but I am worse today. My cough is significantly worse now, & I am afraid to take that cough syrup. For obvious reasons.

I suspect it was a combo of extreme stress (financial, as always) & the codeine.

It's the oddest thing, because I have taken this SAME cough syrup with codeine MANY times! Anytime I have been sick with a cough, I have taken this same cough syrup. And I have NEVER gotten a reaction like this. Also, after multiple surgeries, I have usually been given Vicodan or Codeine for pain, & never had this reaction with the Codeine. I had minor surgery on my legs a couple of years ago, & following the surgery, I broke out in rashes similar to these I had last night. We ASSUMED it was an allergy to the latex sponges they used on me or the adhesive (still possible). But why would my body just suddenly react to weirdly to codeine, when I have been fine with it before? I just think that's really odd.

Thanks to everyone for you sympathy & stuff. It's not Erythema Multiforme, it's just hives. The hive site that macdhomhnuill posted for me says that such hive reactions are common with codeine. I think my current stress level probably didn't help. It sure did freak me out. It was just creepy looking...and then you look at the same spot of my quad today, & see no trace of it. Strange. The human body is sometimes really strange (& fascinating).

This was the first night on the ship. I was being my typical silly self. Nice wind-blown hair I was sporting. Gee....how could Mike have resisted me? *wink*

Remember me talking about scaring people at Haunt from the picture frame? Well, this is what it looked like, for the guests, only it looked a lot cooler & more realistic to the people wearing 3D glasses. I would stand here without moving, & just move my eyes to watch people, which is what tricked them that I was or wasn't real (there are pictures in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in which the eyes follow you, no matter which way you turn). When I could tell that they were scared, I would fling myself through the window & slam my shaker can on the wall below, scaring the POOP out of people (you can see the marks on the wall below the frame, where my shaker can was chipping the paint off the wall)!!!! Some would literally fall on their ass, & not want to get back up (since they had to pass me to continue on through the maze). It was a GREAT scare!!!!

Yummmmm....I bought some vanilla in Mexico, & made my own vanilla coke. See, I grew up on vanilla coke. Mom would take me down to Woolworth's, & we'd get them there. In high school, I would detour by Mtn. Brook Village on my way home from ASFA, & stop by Gilchrist's for a grilled cheese sandwich & 2 vanilla cokes...one for me, one to take home to mom. Yum. I loved them. Especially when they are made with JUST the right amount of vanilla.

So I was stoked when Vanilla Coke came out. But I don't drink caffeine anymore. So that kinda dimmed the excitement for me. So I get caffeine free Coke, & put my own vanilla syrup in it (this syrup I got in Mexico is nummy), & viola! It's delicious, better than the real thing, cause they don't put quite enough vanilla in it.

This pleases me.

The hives have gone down a bit. The only thing I can think of is that they came out when my body temp rose (from falling asleep under the covers). I fell asleep fine, was fine all day...woke up after an hour nap, covered in severe hives. Weird. But as my body temp went back down (I went next door to have my neighbor take the pics of me), the hives started to back off. They are still lightly there, especially the ones on the back of my left arm, but much better. This is just totally weird. Am I allergic to fever? Hmmmm. Strange. I'm gonna take another Benedryl before going to sleep. I have one left. No money to buy more...and no money to go to the doctor....so that's out.

It will be 3 weeks or so before I will see Mike. *pout* I wish he was here to take care of me. I had to make my own chicken noodle soup. ;-Þ

It will be beyond strange to go from living alone for 5+ years to living with someone again, when that happens. I mean, I am sure it will someday. And how much of an adjustment will it be? Weird.
